I can pretty much deal with any pain that comes my way, but this sciatic nerve is unbearable, give me labor over this pain any day. If I owned a hand gun I would have shot myself already. That’s how bad my pain is. Did I mention that I’m in pain? Nothing seems to help; I spent most of my day crying out in pain (God forbid I sneeze). I haven’t slept in 3 days. Please pray that I get better. I have a basketball game this Friday am I crazy to think I might be all better by then? I get severe back pain at least 3 to 4 times a year, but this one is by all means the worst yet; so please pray that I get better soon. Thanks!

Have you seen a doctor? The man I date has been in severe pain over a bulging disk in his lower back. I think he's looking at back surgery. The only comfortable position he can be in is lying on him back with his legs up. He's continuing to work but I don't know how he's doing it. He doesn't see the surgeon until August 2nd! I will be praying for you! |

I have gone to the doctor’s in the past and all they suggest is therapy 4 times a week. Last night I slept face down with a pillow underneath my pelvic as to relieve some of the pressure. During the day when the boss is out I go into his office and lay flat on my back and prop my legs up on the chair with a heating pad on my lower back. The funny part is when I’m not suffering from back pain I am able to play basketball, tennis, ride my bike, run, hike, swim, you name it, I’m a very active person so when my back does go out I feel trapped in my own body and get the sense that I am suffocating. Leigh I will keep your bf in my prayers I hope his surgery goes well. Thanks for the prayers Marilyn and Leigh.

I never realized how important it was to protect my back until I pulled a muscle a few years ago. Not only the pain, but the frustration of limiting my activities! I hope it gets better and you are in my prayers! |

Lisa, My mom had back surgery years ago and continued to have severe back pain for years afterwards. She finally got into therapy and it saved her life. They taught her the way she should be walking, sitting, lying down, etc. It was determined by her individual back pain - not just a general way to do things if you have a weak back. Have you given it a try? I hope you're feeling better! |

Still in pain and not a happy camper. I have gone to a therapist in the past and they did give me good exercise and preventive tips. The bottom line is once you’ve injured you back is it is always going to flare up every now and then; all it take is one wrong turn as you reach over to pick up something. Leigh, good to hear that the therapy saved your mother from suffering constant pain. Grace, take care of that back, as much as we think we can do it all best to always play it safe. As we creep towards maturity ours bodies tend to stiffen up. I plan on getting a sports message over the weekend hopefully that will alleviate some of the pain so that I am well enough to play basketball next Friday. I have to tell you that I’m pretty bummed out that I won’t be able to play tonight. Once again thanks for all your prayers.

How is your back today Lisa? I hope it's healing. Larry is going to the surgeon next Monday to find out for sure if he'll need surgery and if so, when it will be. I hope you're feeling better! |

I’m still in pain but not as much. I have been doing some stretches exercises and elevating my lower back which seems to be helping a lot. Leigh tell Larry to try laying down on his stomach and putting two pillows underneath him below his stomach so that his bottom is higher than the rest of him; that really help elevate much of the pain. I found resting on my side with a pillow between my knees only shift the pressure and laying flat on my back only makes me stiffer. Let me know if it helps. He can even go one step further by applying an ice pack to his back while in that position. I’ve had my best sleep lying that way. I hope it helps. |

Leigh how did Larry’s back surgery go? Can you believe I am still in pain? Err at least it is starting to lessen and I am able to move around. Yes I played basketball on Friday (couldn’t help myself), we won 14 to 15, pretty close game, I scored one basket and had two assist. I’m still holding off riding my bike though. Hopefully by next week I will be back on track. |

I'm sorry you're still having pain but I'm glad it's easing up a bit. Larry's surgery is scheduled for next Thursday. I was going to request prayers for him. Thanks for asking! |
