Hi. I need prayer for my son. He is 14 and really driving me around the bend. He is a really smart kid and yet he is failing his classes. I sometimes feel like he is paying me back for divorcing his dad, but yet he doesn't seem to realize it only is going to hurt him more than me in the long run. I have done everything I can think of and it isn't enough. He gets fairly high marks on his tests and won't do his homework, which is usually a large portion of the mark. please pray that God would touch his thinking and get him to realize that he has to this for himself, not me.

I'll pray for your son. My oldest son has low grades too and I know how frustrating it is.
Good luck.

Also, hang in there and don't give up. My son's a senior this year and his grades aren't as bad as last year. He's really smart too but just won't apply himself. Last year he was still going through a lot of anger from the divorce and it was awful. There were a few times that I just wanted to say, "Fine, fail - I don't care!". But, I didn't. I kept contacting the teachers and preaching to him and praying. I thought he was going to fail a few classes and I was looking into summer school. I was so nervous and stressed about it - and angry with him. But, in the end when he knew he HAD to buckle down or he would fail, he did and he ended up with C averages! So, don't give up.
