I am a single mom of 2. I have another son (16yrs old) who was adopted and now lives in Marlin,TX (6 hr drive from where I live now). He was adopted by an aunt because of the circumstances of his birth. I'll tell u my life story another time... but I need your help. I want to move to Waco to be nearer to him. I am scared to death about doing this on my own. I will need to secure employment before I move.. I'll need to find schools for my little ones... apartments. Do you have any tips for me on making this a successful transition? Especially need info about the job hunt. I plan on making the move in early 2007. Can't move this year because I'm broke. Looking for friends who live in the area. |

i have thought of doing this at some point, but the same issue comes up for me- it's too scary to move far away,where i don't know anyone. I have not figured out a way to secure employment and work for a time there BEFORE Moving. I wanted to move to Texas or maybe Washington state or Oregon, but am afriad that if i moved us out there, and the job didn't work out or whatever, it just seems too scary to venture that yet.So, i have thought about a not so far away move to get out of the area. The only way i think you could do it is with alot of support, not just financial but also babysitting and practical support. |
