ok I quit the job because they are having so much trouble controlling him and he is bigger than me. So I will keep looking. I am getting closer though. |

How's your job hunt coming along? The pharma sales rep interview I had has been postponed. The sales territory isn't even open yet. I'm still hopeful about that one. |

I asked to be reassigned and they called me this week with two possible jobs but they didnt have details so they said they would call back when they had them. After the last couple of weeks with this kid I am not sure if I want to work for them though. I talked to the secretarys at my sons school and they are keeping their eyes and ears open for me. Its hard because I have to do observation hours for each class I take, a lot of them and I cant work in the summer and next academic year I have to do an entire semester of student teaching so I cant work.I do feel more in control of my life now though. I was able to tell them to stuff it and leave because I have my other job. I have self respect and my house is getting cleaner and I smile sometimes. Did you say you are going to be a drug rep?

I was going to interview for a drug sales rep position, but the interview has been postponed. The territory isn't open yet. The guy in the territory now is being promoted and he's not in place in his new position yet.I got a call from a recruiter yesterday for a job opportunity with an educational publishing company. I want a chance to interview so badly for this, I am about to burst out of my skin! Editing and reviewing is soooo where my talent lies... I just called the recruiter. She sent my resume to the company, but doesn't expect a response until next week. I've been reading "What Color is Your Parachute?" and am learning that my job search approach is, well, practically useless. Duh! I read that less than 4% of jobs are filled from online applications. It's kind of hard, because I have so few contacts in this area, but I see now I need to get out there and pound the pavement.... instead of this keyboard. I have started going to places... and calling and writing-- basically bugging-- the contacts I do have. I feel like I'm one good job away from really feeling like my life is pulling together. This one elusive thing..... [This message has been edited by Bluebird (edited 09-16-2005).] |

When I started my teaching career I tutored some kids with behavioral problems - they were the kids that nobody else wanted to deal with. One boy was huge and I actually tutored him at the police station! Goodluck with your job hunt. |

Thomas Kelly (my dad) It takes a long time and there are no shortcuts..I am sure that you will find what you are looking for because you want it that badly. You have a recruiter?? Editing?? I was working with a huge boy with behavioral problems and it wasnt in the police station..lol Its a joy.

Isn't it called a "para professional" when you work one-on-one with a student? Was just wondering... there was such a position in our school district, but it filled before I got down there.I'll keep trying. Thank you for the encouragement. I need it. Yes, I've got a shot at a textbook editing/reviewing job with a publishing company. My degree is in communications and I've had some writing experience since college. I am totally qualified for this.... am sooooo hoping for an interview. How's your search going? |
