I am a single mom and I was wondering how to go about and work at home.

Be very careful about work at home jobs. Most are scams (I know I've looked for years) I do know someone that works from home she is an architect (forgive my spelliing) but from what I understand it took her awhile to get to the point where she could work at home. Be very leery of any offer that requires you to fork over money... even those that dont... an example is stuffing envelopes (one I saw the other day) yes you get paid for stuffing envelopes but it involves paying money to get access to a web site where you have to download fliers and print them then take an add out asking people to send a self addressed envelop with $5 in it. Its a scam. Not to nemtion that the post office will get pissy with you if they have to deleiver 100 or so "letters" to you on a weekly or even monthly basis. It gets away with being legal (barely) but its still a scam right up there with pryamid schemes.

The basic rule of thumb is if it sounds to good to be true it usually is. My advice is to go back to school. If you are a single parent then chances are there are grants out there to pay for the schooling and daycare. Some collages even offer to help you with daycare money. Also there are short courses that also offer jobs upon completion. Drawing blood... CNA those are 2 off the top of my head (drawing blood is called pheltobomty and yeah I spelled that all kinds of wrong but it starts with a p and I see adds for classes all the time)

You might want to check out Live Ops or Work at Home Agent.com

They handle all the overflow calls for sites like ShopNBC, and other telesales services like QVC.

You have to pass a few tests in order to qualify. I will be honest and tell you the pay is low (about 25cents a minute) but you can set your own hours.

I would suggest something else but it involves talking dirty! I did it for 2 years (BEFORE MY GIRL WAS BORN!) and made about 400 a week. I worked my butt off but I was able to keep from going on welfare and paid for my own apartment. keep in mind...IT'S NOT FOR EVERYBODY.

Also, you can contract yourself out by putting your resume in something like Craigslist and offering any marketable services you can provide.

Keep on it girl!

I am very interested on the TJobs.com for at home work. Is it good money? I saw the website and it looks like it refers you to other sites and such and looks a little confusing, unless I am reading it wrong! Ha!

I saw it's 15 dollars to join, but would like your opinion as to whether it's worth it or not.

Thanks!

I tried work at home agent, but i failed the test (easy as heck, but didn't have time to study cause i was tending to my very DEMANDING toddler! Boy can she throw a tantrum!

And if you fail, you can't take the test/qualify again for 6 months! Bummer.

I hope I hear something from Tjobs.com.

I found another Telecommuting jobs list called "bassador.com". From what I understand you get a 7 day free trial and it's only $8 (I think). Cheaper than the $15 dollars I ALREADY SPENT on TJobs.

I found a recruiting job from T Jobs so I hopefully will make this business fly somehow.

I feel awful.

I left my 10 day notice to Home Staffing Network. I tried, and networked, but I am finding out, I am not one of those people who feel comfortable calling potential employers about their staffing needs.

Also, it's going to COST me (despite HSE providing you with links to free ad posting....they AREN'T free!). People here in Silicon Valley/San Francisco area go to Monster or HotJobs, or even Craigslist to get their employees or sources.

Anyway, I don't want to ramble, makes me feel even worse.

I am trying to make a good living, at home, supporting my daughter so I don't have to RELY on her Child Support so much (he ALWAYS quits his Permanent jobs) ...along with my regular "temp" job.

Hope I find something (work) I can be actually good at, from home soon.

All times are CT (US)
