Hi. Sorry in advance if this is long. I read alot of ur posts before joining and am scared but also relieved to know I can obtain words from the wise. I am about to have a little girl and the father has told me right out he doesnt want to help or know the child. He left me in the first trimester for his current girlfriend who possibly sells drugs. So does he I just found out. They are both on probation and living together about to marry after only knowing each other well about two months. The rest of my pregnancy they have both been in and out of jail.

At first I said good riddance, my daughter deserves better but also she has the right to know her father. I havent heard from him or his family in two months. They are from Palestine and his mom and dad and siblings recently moved back. Only his brother remains here in Louisiana who owns a beauty supply store here in my town so I have reason to believe he is still here. Also his 'fiancee' wouldnt relocate to Palestine so....

My question is im thinking of filing for c.sup but if he moves to Palestine should I just forget it? And if him and his bride to be are in the drug game should I just forget it all together for the safety of my baby? Also if i decide to pursue c.sup with him being on 3 years of probation will that make it easier to find him. I know her addy too but dont know if they still live there. Help!

Hello,

have you checked with your state's Child Support Enforcement office? They may be able to help. There is also information on child support here http://www.lawfirms.com/resources/family/child-support/child-support-faq.htm from a more legal perspective.

hope that helps.

Thank you for the info. Ive been in contact with the father's family and he has contacted me off and on, most of it negative on his part so im kind of confused as to what to do but the url you gave me provides lots of insight if i decide to go that route. Thanks again.
