The judge in my divorce trial lowered child support payments due from the kids' dad yesterday to just over $100/month. He *had* been paying nearly $700/month. His income did not change drastically, nor did mine. Although he did recently have a baby with his girlfriend (for which the judge said he'd give a half-hardship credit for). However, the 1 month prior to filling out the I&E I had a HUGE month - it was a complete anomaly. The judge decided that he saw no reason to believe that this amount for June would not be my new income amount, so he refigured the dissomaster using that anomaly amount. I normally make about 1/2 the amount I made in June.Last year, when the original support was decided, my attorney had successfully gotten the judge to add an additional $1K of income each month to my ex's income because he doesn't pay rent. When she asked for that *this* time again, the judge refused.
I'm told by my attorney that I can't appeal this with my judge. Is there any other way I can appeal it? Provide full documentation of my income (I'm self-employed), etc.?
Thanks in advance.
