Hello All, This is my first time to ever post anything so please forgive me if I don't do this correctly. I am a single mom of two girls ages 9 and 13. I was able to get sole custody of my girls because he never bothered to return anything to the court. The court said he would pay all travel expenses, child support of $700 plus $200 paid directly to me for Medical insurance that I carry. Everytime he gets a job and they start to take out child support he quits. Michigan FOC says there is nothing they can do to find his present employer. I have had to do all of the research everytime. Since our divorce I have paid all travel expense, all Insurance, and when receiving child support for the short amount of times that I did would even help him out because he was having a hard time. ------------------ |

I wish I had some great advice, but my ex has not apid in 14 years. I finally got to the point that I sent a letter to our senator and congressman! I was told by one case worker to "hope he sees the light", I am sure there are options but they are helpful at letting you know about them or supporting you. All I can say is to be wary of the web sites and advertisments for comps like support.com or supportkids.com. One charges a $500 fee that they take out of the support collected, and then they each take 33% out of every thing collected from then on out. I tried it once for about a year all they did was take 33% out of the measely $100 I was seeing ever few months at that point. And that was money collected by the DA's office so they basically took money and did nothing to try and get any more than I was already seeing. when he stopped paying the DA they never were of any more help. Over 14 years my ex has paid a total of 925.00 I wish luck but prepared many many parents out there honestly never see a dime. |

I actually find Michigan's FOC System a complete "Joke"! I have the Assistant Prosecuting Attorney/Referee telling me one story and the very Nasty Friend of the Court Clerk telling me another. Forget about speaking with the case worker! Plain and Simple they don't have time. So, it seems to me that the derlict Dads win in this situation. Don't know what county you live in but I have had to deal with absolute disrespect and rudeness when trying to my questions answered. Not to mention the missing CS payments. Not as much as yours. However, my child's father seems to know how to manipulate the system. Haven't received a CS child support payment in 3 weeks plus arrearages and nobody seems to know the answers as to WHY? Yet, one just showed up yesterday for the same amount as usual. I really don't know what to tell you, it just seems that everything with regards to the CS System is a JOKE!!! Who can afford to hire an Attorney. Not Me! |

don't feel bad, mine owes over a hundred thousand dollars, yes $100,000.00 and today I just got a check for drum rol $15.41. I had a why the F*** even bother moment |

What a slap in the face. I can't believe the amount you got. Well, yeah I guess I do! Did you ever want to be evil and send the check back with bold wording written across the top? Something to the effect that "It seems he needs this check more than his child does!" |

Oh the best part is NV doesn't do checks anymore then send you an debit card and direct deposit into the accoutn. Well the idiots at our office sent me a card because he paid 15, yeah an expired card, now I can't get a live person on the phone to speak to to tell them the card is expired so I have to waste my time to drive down to the office and let them know they mistakenly sent me an expired card, which I am sure they will somehow make my fualt |
