Just an FYI - my ex and I are required to meet halfway EOW - 125 one way - 500 miles per weekend. With gas prices as they are, 3/4 of the CS goes for gas anyway, so when he doesn't pay, it takes about $200 per month out of my pocket and therefore out of groceries etc. I just had it written into the paperwork and it was approved that if ex doesn't pay support he is required to drive the entire distance and pick up and drop off from my home! I'm so glad the judge allowed it, I think this should be commonplace in orders with any distance. It takes away from the child when one parent refuses to pay support but still requires the other to spend the $ for gas. |

That's great news, and good to know. Heck I have an hour and a half drive one way to drop my kids off. Gas is $3.55 a gallon as of today, so that's a whole lot of money.  |

AYE! Where are you? I'm in TX, I travel 125 miles one way and on Friday in traffic it sometimes takes me up to 3 1/2 hours! Our gas is averaging about $2.91 right now....I hope it doens't get that high! |

Ops...I must have bumped my head, I actually have a two hour drive with no traffic 3 plus hours with traffic. I live in California in good ol Los Angeles County. |
