Priamommy New Member	posted 02-24-2006 02:29 PM I have a 3 month old daughter and i do not want to loose her my bf keeps threatnin to even though his name is not on her birth certificate he didn't want her from birth i cannot loose her please help me. I don't know what to do
Suzanne Member	posted 03-02-2006 10:36 PM It is VERY hard for him to get custody. Especially if he is not on the birth cert. The DA (even when your asking for child support)asks ALOT of questions. Down to where you conceived and how you met. I would go to the DA FIRST. Even if you try to get support he cannot SUE you for custody at that time. He has to hire an attorney and it is a SEPERATE issue. Believe me- I worried about this for years even though my ex was NEVER involved. I waited too long before asking for support for that reason alone. Now I have the DA to chase him around to get the money. But I live in California they are TOUGH on deadbeat dads. It may be different in your state. You just need to call your county DA's office. Good luck!
sandra Member	posted 05-23-2006 10:43 PM If he is harrasing and threatening you, why do you not talk to a lawyer, or go to a free legal aid clinic, sometimes in the courthouses, they have a domestic violence clinic you can get free advice at. The other thing is today, you should file a restraining order against him for harrasment.
