So I just started reading a new book by Mitch Albom. It is "For one More day" . He is the author of Tuesdays with Morrie.
I am only on like page 12, but it is looking to be a good, perspective catching book, if that makes sense? I will just share a bit from the cover. The guy in the book, decides to commit suicide, thinking it is the only way out. And he during the attempt has the chance to talk to one person from his past one more time, someone who is no longer there. And how that "talk" affects and changes his life.

Ok so finished book not sure anybody is reading this post or cares. But if you are new book so not worth the $20! It was a cute idea, actually a great idea the idea of talking to that one person who impacted your life or who could have implacted your life, just one last time. But the part about that was really really short, and then the wrap up about how this last conversation affected the persons life was seriously a page long. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT> I am jsut going to have to write a book now.

I'm glad you mentioned it was not worth the money or I might have gone out and got this one. (I am addicted to reading) Have you read "The Five People You Meet In Heaven"? This is one of his books as well. I enjoyed it. Its an easy read. My sister recently gave me "Dinner with a Perfect Stranger" by David Gregory. Its about a man who has dinner with Jesus. When he first gets the invitation he thinks its a prank. Its an easy read as well, but I enjoyed it too.

I read Five people, it is by the same author so I thought it would be good. It was ok it was an easy read, but it left so many voids to fill in, It could have been a wonderful book is he had expanded on how it really changed his life, or somehting like that.
For quick reads my favorite are still Nihcolas Sparks, I love the Guardian. He wrote a book about his around the world trip with his brother Micah, Two weeks with my Brother, it was really good! but all of his are.
Hopeless romantic i guess.

I thought I was posting to the new book topic and screwed up. My posting with John Grisham's Painted House was supposed to belong with this posting.

I looooove Nicholas Sparks!! I have read all his books. Love 'em! I can't seem to get through his books without crying though. Did you know he has a new book coming this month?

I read Mitch Albom's "Tuesdays With Morrie." That was good.

I'm glad you filled us in that your last one of his wasn't that good.... I was ready to buy it based on your recommendation. Now I'll pass, unless it's from the library.

My latest read was "The Book Thief"-- a WWII historical fiction. I had given it to my daughter last Christmas. It is about 12-14 year old girl's life during the Holocaust. It was awesome.... so well done, but very disturbing. It jarred me, made me realize how easy my life can be in comparison to being Jewish in Nazi Germany.

I totally recommend it to teens and parents.

So I finished reading "a long way gone" by Ishmeal Beah. Amazing amazing amazing. i can understand why it has been number one on the NY time bestsellers list. Heart wrenching but I am hoping he plans to write a follow up to it. Which it seems like he may be thinking about. He was in DC (at my store) doing a book reading and signing so I got to hear him talk about the book first hand and he sounds like he may write a follow up. He was not only phenomal to listen to but he didn't let you down with his writing. His story is based on true events of his childhood as a boy soldier in Sierra Leone, Africa.
