My ex's sister wants me to do a marathon training with her. I hike, bike ride, and I speed walk several miles 3-4 times a week, but I don't run. I called this place and they said a lot of people do a run/walk combo. No matter what the outcome it will be a good for me but I don't know what to expect.
Anyone every try a marathon training before?
Hope I don't crash and burn =)

No running here. I'm a swimmer. It might be a good opportunity to run off some of that teenager stress.

I've only done 5K's - that's enough for me. But my bf has run in several marathons. When he was running he ate lots of carbs. That's a great goal! You will run off all of your frustrations.

I wish I did run because it keeps one in such good shape, but I don't run. Both my ex's sister and I are over 40 and, although she used to be a runner, she had knee surgery last year and running hurts my lower back. She really wants me to do this and keeps emphasizing that it is a walk/run interval training which should be easier for us. Walking 26 miles doesn't intimidate me in the least but running 26 feet does. I agreed to go to the orientation, but last year I got her into hiking and she loves it. I am trying to convince her to either do a bike run or join a hiking club with me instead.

My knees can't take running. Plus, I find running insanely boring unless it's in the course of some type of game or competition. However, I wish I could becuas it's a great calorie burn!
