Good luck with the Y. I don't know what it will take to get my 40 something body back into shape. Odd that I was thinking about it today. There was an email on my computer at work today. For $15 I can join "Club Chub" at school. No organization to it. We go this week and get weighed at the school nurses office and then the person that looses the most weight by May 11 wins the "kitty". I thought about doing it. I never do things like that. Fatherhood has been good to me and I am taking care of the kids and beleive in feeding them well. I love to cook, love eating even more and hate to waste so I always clean the plates for what my kids (3) don't finish. I will probably push the scale at 205 or thereabouts and at 5'8 would be much better around 160. It makes me hungry just thinking about cutting back! I am fit. I do a lot of walking and work here on my farm. Just am overweight and getting an ugly gut .

surepop...good luck with "club chub!" What a fun name! This past June, 19 of my friends, male and female did our version of the chub club. We had a weigh in party and set a party date of 6 weeks to meet back for a weigh in and an all you can eat party! Amazing how much easier it is for men to lose. In six weeks one man lost 27 pounds, one 24, one 23, one 18 and so on. 14 pounds was the largest weight loss on the woman's side. I lost 10 but altogether we lost a total of 250 pounds! We paid $20 to get in the winner also took the pot! This was a great way to lose weight and certainly a great source of accountability. Good luck all and Many Blessings...Marilyn

How is the working out going? I love the ymca, the kids can run around and do thier thing and I can do mine. When my daughters strength training classes are low on attendence they let me work out with her. We go for two hours a day, and since we started going, the kids are happier, more relaxed, and doing better in school. They are also becoming more confident as they pass the tests to move up levels in thier classes.

The sauna is also a bonus in this frigid winter weather, I run from the parking lot straight into the sauna and soak it up.

its funny that this posting was on here because come monday i have an appointment at the y. I can't take being stuck indoors anymore and my son needs to burn off some energy so i am signing him up for kids gymnastics and another class at the y. I have to go through the assisted memebership thing thoguh because it would cost me a thousand a year for myself and him and i can't hit that mark right now. anyway, amen to hitting the fitness trail. I threw out my candy at work, am going home and cleaning the junk food drawer out and am starting this week to eat healthier. My son eats healthy while i sit there after hes in bed with junk food galore. Nice example to set. The hibernation fat is starting to add up on me and usually come spring it comes off easy when i do all my outdoor work around the yard and house, but i don't feel healthy, so off i go. I want a change as well. let hear the cheer yay for ymca. yayaya gimme a break i have been here for 12 hours now aaagg!
