How do you guys keep the pounds off? I walk and do light weights at home and am in pretty good shape, but I feel the winter pounds creeping up. I think since my life is calming down a little, I'm relaxing more and I'm afraid I'm going to gain weight. I live in Ohio so the weather stinks for about 5 months and it's hard to be as active as I am in the warmer months. What works for you? Or, are you struggling too? |

of course...how old are you, when you hit your 30's your metabolism slows and you have to do things differently ie-eating and exercise...i dont have time right now, but yoga tapes and pilates tapes work and the walking....we got a membership with financial aid at the ymca and i signed up the kids, i was planning on working out while they were doing their thing, but i havent had a chancei had tried curves bcause a friend had asked, but it wasnt enough for me, i went around the circle like 3 times each time i went, but it did work.. you could take a dance class or something with your BF or any class for that matter (me jealous :O ) |

I just started back at the gym full time this week. I'm trying to hit it 4-5 times a week. Ughhh! My daughter is now addicted to going. Tonight I was going to skip but she kept begging me to go. I'm glad I did. |

I'm forty years old, 5'6" and 125 pounds...not bad for an old forty-year old! LOL. I thought about joining Curves, but you think it's not that great? I need some inspiration. It's funny you mention Curves, Dance and Pilates because those are the things I've been considering, along with kick-boxing. I thought I needed to simlify my life, which I've done with my classes behind me and bowing out of some other committees I'm on, but now I find I do better with a little more on my plate. I would LOVE to take dance lessons so maybe I'll look further into that. I've done Yoga in the past and loved it but have only done Pilates tapes. I'll look into that too. I live in a dead little town and I'll have to travel 15 miles to get into anything like this. It just reminds me more of how anxious I am to be able to move away from here when my boys are older. Have any of you done kick-boxing? |

i tried the kick boxing but i have a shoulder injury and punching someone is really out of character for me and it made me very uncomfortable...look for a free first class or go watch a class before you shell out tons of moneytia chi(spelling) is fun its slow motion..graceful...its been a long time but thats what i remember at curves you can call ahead and try it out before you actually sign up..if you have a friend to go with an talk to while you do it its good..you just keep going around this circle and around and around by your description you sound more than ok leigh [This message has been edited by lkellyhappy1 (edited 11-12-2004).] |
