Thanks so much Bluebird for your advice! My only problem is I don't know if I can keep her from him since we have joint custody and set days on which we have her. If he wants her, I'm not sure I have a choice if I can say no and keep her! I've asked him to get help, but he won't. Some days he agrees that he needs it, some days he thinks there's nothing wrong with him. If I wake up in the middle of the night to a noise, I think it's him coming after me.(after three years he hasn't gotten over us, even though he's been married again since our split up, and the last girlfriend of a year) I've called the police on him for his suicide calls, but all they do is go to the house and make sure he's alive. So frustrating!

How old is your daughter? Old enough to judge if he's sick or not? Old enough to know when she needs to call you for help? If she's too little for either things, I'd withhold visits when he seems sick. I think you should trust your gut feeling. If you think she's not safe there, you're probably right. I'd rather take a chance on getting into a custoday battle than put her in danger. I can't imagine that any sane authority would make her go with a parent who is threatening or suicidal-- and it's on tape.

Has he ever done anything to suggest that she's not safe with him? If he has, you have a responsibility to keep her out of harm's way. Please be careful! I'll be thinking of you and praying for all of you.
