jenahoover Member	posted 06-28-2006 12:47 PM I'm going to see a lawyer for the first time today and am nervous! My ex and I at the moment have joint custody of our 3 year old but I can't tolerate his craziness anymore! I get no child support from him and he makes in a month what I make in a year! He threatens my life if i take him to court for full custody and child support. I don't know if I can get a restraining order or what to do. I don't feel safe with my daughter there either. I can't even let him know where I live. He's just nuts.

mom-of-one Member	posted 07-13-2006 08:58 PM Its been awhile that I have written in. But I know for a fact and personal experience you can get a restraining order on threat only. The police advocate who persauded me to get a court order asked three important questions: does he have the means to take my shild?, Does he scare you? and do you feel threatened by him? With those answers the court gave me a court order for an op.
jewelz Member	posted 08-13-2006 01:02 AM You can definitley get one...make sure you explain, in detail, why your are scared and fear for your safety and most importantly your child's.
