Hey can anyone give me some ideas, please. My son never wants to leave when his friends are around and it's time to go. He will just lose it and throw a tantrum and hit, kick, scratch, scream, whatever it takes to get his point across that he does not want to go. I know that he's a toddler, but at the end of a play date or evening or whatever when I say it's time to go it's because we have to go, and he's usually mommy's perfect little angel and then he warps into this monster when he hears we have to go and I just can't control him and can't reason with because he's 3 and upset. Then when i finally do get him ou to the car I have to wrestle with him to get him in the car seat or else sit in the car for minutes on end until he's ready to get into it and he figured out that if he said he had to pee we would go back in so now he walks down the street yelling mommy I have to pee really bad or he starts yelling it once he gets in the car seat. HELP!!!! Please. Can you think of anything that's worked for you or that you've seen someone else do that seemed like a good idea, I'll try pretty much any suggestion at this point to make a smooth transition.

Hi! Its for sure a stage your child is going through. It is probably already over when you get this reply! My son who is now 7 had many stages similar to that... oh my, I remember how frustrated and sad I felt many times, and I felt like he would be the only one in the world doing just that one thing. But the truth is all toddlers (and even older children) go through stages, but maybe not all do the same things, one might through tantrums when you have to leave the play date or playground and another might do something completely different..
