HEllo my name is Cherie...I am a student at Franciscan University in Steubenville OH.I am studying in the field of elementary education as well as Special Education. I am taking a class this spring that requires us to write a action research project/paper. I thought about researching the topic Single parenthood and the effects in education. If there are any. I don't want to offend anyone. I have family that are single parents by choice and this is how I became interested. I wanted to ask some questions to whoever would answer. Let me know how everyone feels. Thanks alot.... |

I finally came up with some questions. Sorry it took so long to complete this process...Thanks again..... Single Parent Research Questions 2. In your child’s education do you feel that you are able to be involved in your child’s education? 3. Do you feel that the loss of a parent or a parent not in their lives has an effect on the child’s emotions and behaviors? 4. Do you think it is fair that you have to raise your child (ren) alone? 5. What is the single hardest aspect of being a single parent in trying to raise your child (ren)? Example: money- no spouse to help support you. 6. Do you feel that you have time to help your child (ren) with their math, reading, writing, or can you get help. 7. If so do you know where to receive help? 8. If your child is in sports, plays, or extracurricular activities are you able to go and support them, if not what are some reasons why? 9. Do you think that you should be able to support your child (ren) in these activities? 10. If you had a child before you may have been ready; did this hurt your education and your child in the long run? 11. Did you choose to be a single parent or was this stressed upon you? 12. Has your child been diagnosed with any type of disorder, if so what effect does this have on your life? 13. Do you feel that being a single parent has made you more capable of doing more than you ever thought possible? 14. Do you find it hard to have to do everything for yourself? 15. Do you think that single parenting is hard with one child or more than one? |

I will answer, I need the distraction. Single Parent Research Questions Yes, less than a week out it is my friends who are my support. 2. In your child’s education do you feel that you are able to be involved in your child’s education? Yes 3. Do you feel that the loss of a parent or a parent not in their lives has an effect on the child’s emotions and behaviors? So far no, I ask daily and we talk about it too much in his opinion. I am sure it has affected my son, but the four years we spent living with an alcoholic affected him more I am sure. 4. Do you think it is fair that you have to raise your child (ren) alone? My wife(Ex) checked out, so not much choice. 5. What is the single hardest aspect of being a single parent in trying to raise your child (ren)? Example: money- no spouse to help support you. Time! 6. Yes, If I was able to help him (LOL) his work is more advanced than anything I saw in high school. 7. If so do you know where to receive help? Yes 8. Do you think that you should be able to support your child (ren) in these activities? Yes N/A 11. Did you choose to be a single parent or was this stressed upon you? It was stressed upon me (LOL) 12. Has your child been diagnosed with any type of disorder, if so what effect does this have on your life? N/A 13. Do you feel that being a single parent has made you more capable of doing more than you ever thought possible? Yes 14. Do you find it hard to have to do everything for yourself? At times, but I am getting a groove. Now that I have the perfect combination of laundry cleaners in place my life is complete. 15. Do you think that single parenting is hard with one child or more than one? I have one and could not speculate on more. Mine is 14 and does much (Some) for himself. If he only knew what a sponge was for, or a clothes hamper. |
