I am a single father who has no custody. I am concerned with my childs mothers way of life and decisions as far as my daughter goes. We are both have problems and I am a recovering addict. I would like to go to court and get joint custody to make sure that my daughter, who has been termed with ADD and has already at the age of 7 had multiple problems, has a better life than either I or her mother has had. I am on SSI and cannot afford a lawyer and have no clue as to what to do. My daughter is not in any pyschical danger but I do believe that her mothers living habits and attitudes are affecting her in negative ways.
Can someone please give me some advice as to someone I can talk to or some services that may offer services outside of social services, which I will use only as a last resort. Thank you.
