I had a really decent babysitter up until recently. I don't know what I am going to do, I just moved a few months ago so I don't have a 'network' yet, and all the daycares cost more than I as a single mom can afford. If any of you single parents live in the Portland, Oregon area or you know of someone. Please!! Let me know!! |

I used the YMCA after-school care for a long time. When my kids were older, middle to late elementary age, I started using high-school girls. I simply made an ad and gave it to the high school councelor and never had a problem filling the position, and it was much cheaper than a daycare. Also, you may qualify for some childcare assistance. Go to the local social services agency and see if they have any state funded programs. |

My daughter is headed to the University of Texas and, believe me, that age bracket needs jobs more than ever. Thanks to the economy, their middle-class parents are broke! |
