You feel old? I am moving my baby girl five hours away this coming weekend to start her first year of college. I am dreading it. (but at the same time, I'm so proud of her I could bust)

She is not my first to go off to College, she is my third. So I feel reeeaaaalllly old! My oldest son is done and my middle son is starting his third year. I don't know where the years went. I blinked and they were all grown up.

Oh, don't I wish! But the nest is not quite empty. My younger son is going to the local college and has decided to stay home at least another year. He had planned to move this summer and I was just getting used to idea of having the house to myself when he told me he changed his mind. Yeah, he checked how much it would cost to live on his own and relized that he might as well stay with Mom a little longer.

I am sitting in a hotel room on my laptop this morning watching my daughter sleep. This is move in day at her dorms. Driving home and leaving her behind is going to be one of the hardest things I've ever done. In this moment I wish I could go back to the first day of kindergarten. I think that day was easier than this one will be. At least then she was only a few blocks away and not a few hundred miles. I worry about her being home sick or lonely. The furthest from home she has ever been is to Grandma's across town. I know that I am probably worried about nothing and she will be fine. I think this is much harder on me than it is on her.
