I'm a young single mother (23) of a gorgeous 3 yr old girl! I work from home and I don't drive, so I don't get out much except to take my daughter to the park and church. Unfortunately, most of my neighbours don't speak English And most of the moms at church are married, so they don't relate to some of the unique challenges of being a single parent.

I'm on here looking for connections -- with other single moms, or with single dads (not gender prejudiced :-P).

I have my own sad tale of how I became a single mom, and the difficulties of the last few years, but that's for a different post. Currently, my child's father and I are on civil terms. He pays child support regularly, we have a finalized court order, and he sees my daughter every other weekend, unsupervised visitation.

We live in a geared-to-income townhouse, but other than that minor subsidy, that's the only government assistance I receive. I survive on my work-at-home income (which is decent).

I'm a speak-my-mind type of gal. I have very strong opinions and don't take crap from no one :P -learned that the hard way! I also do my best to try to help and share from my experiences and let people know they aren't the only ones.

I hope that I'll meet some good friends on here.

Oh - lol almost forgot - we are in Ontario, Canada. Anyone else out there from my area?
