How/when do you start to trust someone again? At what point do you say to yourself, it is me, and I am just being cynical due to my past experiences, or when do you say I am being lied to?

I went out on a date with a man I met on a single parent website. Turns out we already knew eachother. He has full custody of his daughter. He had to cancel our first date becuase his daughter was sick. He had to cancel our second attempt at a first date (although this was not an official one) becuase his ex did not want to pick up their daughter from school. We did end up meeting, it was a good date, conversation flowed pretty easy. He said he wanted to see me again, he has called, he has texted. We were supposed to have a second date tonight, and he had to cancel because his father was in the hospital. Am I being paranoid? r should I give him the benefit of the doubt? At this point I don't expect him to not meet other women. Why would someone go through all those lies just to cancel a date?

dating sucks

OK,I'm not really that bitter, but crap...
ha ha, I'm sorry to laugh but the absurdity of us dating, trying to do the same thing that is hard enough when there aren't kids and other responsibilites that we inherit as we grow older.

I have no real advice, I'm clueless about it all and I've been single for MANY years now... I guess, though, you shouldn't be paranoid, just go with the flow, you know, if it's right then it's right and you'll eventually have more time together.

stay patient and true to yourself and you'll be OK.
good luck and lotsa love to you
