I recently found out that someone I have known from work (same company, different office location has just broken up with his girlfriend. He is someone that I would pursue in time (He might need time to heal from the break up). He has no kids, but wants them, is good looking and a real nice guy, very down to earth, and calm. This is my question, it is something that I have been thinking about since the guy I was last seeing brought it up. Anyway, ususally a single parent would have everyother weekend with the kids, which makes them available for dating only everyother weekend. The guy that I was seeing did not find that acceptable (with someone else he was seeing before me). Meaning, he wanted to see the person he was dating more than everyother week. In my opinion, in the begining, I am not going to get a babysitter so that I can go out on a date, and the guy I date will have to accept every other week for a while. What is your opinion?

Every other week is fine and I could not see why someoen would really have a "problem" with it. That is your boundary for now and it should be respected. I think it is important to take it slow and there are other ways to stay in contact with someone you are dating without having to go out. In time it will all work out but I see nothing wrong with having a dating schedule. Just be up front and let the guy know what is up.
